Man Found Dead in a Drying Water Channel on Jalan Cacing Raya

JAKARTA - A man with the initials HS (55) was found dead in a dry water ditch on Jalan Cakung Cilincing (Cacing) Raya, Rorotan Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta. It is not yet known what caused the victim to die in the water channel.

Cilincing Police Chief AKP Bobi Subasri said the victim was found dead. From the results of the crime scene investigation, no signs of abuse were found. The police chief suspected that the victim died of illness.

"According to the victim's wife, her husband has a history of stomach disease," said AKP Bobi when confirmed, Tuesday, January 6, 2021.

The police chief said that with the discovery of the body, investigators had secured the location of the incident and asked for the testimony of a number of witnesses. Then take the victim's body to the Kramat Jati Polri Hospital for a visum.

"We will wait for the results of the visa from the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, from the testimony of the witness AH, he had met the victim on Monday, January 5, yesterday. AH, who is a container vehicle tire repairer, admitted that he recognized the victim's face.

To him, suddenly the victim complained of dizziness. AH then told the victim to rest.

"Since then, the witness has not seen the victim," he said.

Then on Tuesday afternoon at around 11.30 WIB, the victim's wife RJS (52) who lost her husband asked for help from the Head of the Metro Jaya Police's Animal Unit, AKP Mariaman Saragih, who is her brother, to help search for her husband.

"This search was requested by the victim's wife because her husband did not return home and disappeared," he said.

Then the Metro Jata Police Wildlife personnel searched around the location where the victim worked. Not long after, the second witness, who was also a tire repairer, found a man lying under the toll road not far from the tire repair place.
