Saturday, Light Rain Covers Most of Indonesia's Major Cities

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that light rain will pour over most of Indonesia on Saturday.

BMKG Praktirawan Alya Sausan on the Youtube channel that was followed in Jakarta, Saturday, said that on Sumatra Island, the weather was predicted to be cloudy in Banda Aceh and Tanjung Pinang, while Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung were light rain.

Pangkal Pinang City has the potential for moderate rain.

On Java Island, the weather is predicted to be thick clouds in Serang City, while Jakarta, Semarang, and Yogyakarta have the potential for light rain, while Bandung City has the potential for moderate rain.

"Be aware of rain that may be accompanied by lightning in the Surabaya area," he said, as quoted by ANTARA.

In Kalimantan, Pontianak City is predicted to be thick clouds. Light rain is predicted to rain on Palangkaraya and Samarinda, while Banjarmasin City is predicted to rain with moderate intensity.

In Bali and Nusa Tenggara, the weather is expected to be cloudy in Denpasar and Mataram, while Kupang has the potential to be thick clouds.

In Sulawesi, the weather is predicted to be light rain in Makassar, Kendari, Gorontalo, Manado, while Mamuju will rain with moderate intensity.

"Be aware of the lightning that can occur in Palu," he said.

Ternate and Ambon are predicted to rain with light intensity, while for the Papua region, Sorong City, Manokwari, Jayapura, and Nabire are predicted to rain lightly.

Jayawijaya and Merauke regions are predicted to rain with moderate intensity.

BMKG also reminded the public to be alert to the impact of heavy to very heavy rain in North Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.
