Police Ensure the Situation of Residents in Tebet Manggarai is Conducive After the New Year's Eve 2026

JAKARTA - The police have confirmed that the brawl between residents of Gang Tuyul RW 04 and residents of RW 012 in the Manggarai Tunnel, Jalan Dr. Soepomo, Manggarai, Tebet, South Jakarta, has been conducive.

"The brawl can be disbanded in a safe and conducive situation," said Tebet Police Chief Kompol Iwan Gunawan to reporters in Jakarta, Friday.

Iwan said the brawl occurred on Friday afternoon at 15.00 WIB, which was started by the sound of firecrackers from the Manggarai Tunnel.

However, suddenly 20 residents from RW 04 and RW 12 appeared who attacked each other by throwing stones and firecrackers.

"It didn't take long for us to push both sides back and urge residents to return to their respective homes," he said.

Finally, the brawl stopped at 16.10 WIB and the residents had dispersed from the location.

However, the police are still conducting foot patrols from alley to alley in the RW 04 and RW 012 Manggarai areas.

"For now, there are no injured or casualties," he said.

This brawl occurred for the second time on New Year's Eve 2026, which had previously occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 18.10 WIB.
