JAKARTA - The Ditreskrimum of the Polda Metro Jaya also recorded the handling of 250 cases of gangsterism throughout 2025, with a total of 348 suspects. Two cases stand out, including the occupation of the South Tangerang Hospital parking lot and extortion of traders at the SGC Market.

"We have carried out legal enforcement for both cases and currently have legal certainty," said Iman, in the 2025 Year-End Release documentation.

The action against the premanism was carried out through active collaboration with the TNI, Satpol PP, and community elements. This step is considered effective in creating a safer and more comfortable environment, especially in public spaces, shopping areas, and business areas that were previously prone to extortion and intimidation.

"The positive impact we hope for is the creation of a conducive security climate so that the wheels of Jakarta's economy can continue to run and grow," he said.

Furthermore, regarding the implementation of restorative justice (RJ), the Ditreskrimum of the Polda Metro Jaya recorded 93 cases were resolved through the RJ mechanism throughout 2025.

The figure, said Iman, increased by 3.91 percent compared to 2024. Meanwhile, in the ranks of the police in the entire Metro Jaya Police, the increase was recorded at 0.63 percent.

"This shows that public awareness is beginning to grow in using restorative justice as one of the mechanisms for resolving cases outside the court," explained Iman.

Iman hopes that the Metro Jaya Police is currently forming restorative justice spaces throughout the Criminal Investigation Unit of its jurisdiction.

"The restorative policing approach is expected to be able to provide more proportional, just, and legal certainty for the capital city's people," he said.
