Polrestabes Bandung Does Not Close Pasupati Flyover at New Year's Eve

BANDUNG - The Bandung City Police ensure that the Pasupati flyover, Bandung City, will not be closed during the New Year's Eve celebration 2026.

Head of the Bandung Police Traffic Police AKBP Wahyu Pristha said that closing the flyover could potentially cause congestion on the lower lane so that the policy was not taken.

"For the flyover, no closure will be carried out. The flyover will continue to be guarded and regulated so that traffic flows normally. Don't let us close the flyover because it can cause congestion on the lower lane," said Wahyu as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 31.

However, he emphasized that traffic engineering would still be applied on a situational basis, adjusting to the density conditions on the ground.

All security points, continued Wahyu, will be guarded by police personnel. Around 100 personnel are on alert at each security point to ensure the smooth and safe celebration of New Year's Eve.

"We expect cooperation from all parties so that the celebration of the new tahub night can run safely, smoothly, and conducive," he said.

Wahyu gave an example, if the Asia-Africa area to the Bandung Square is filled with the masses, then access to Jalan Tamblong will be closed to prevent overcrowding.

"If Asia Africa and Alun-Alun are very crowded, we will close Tamblong Street, including access to Naripan," he said.

The same will be applied in the Braga area if there is a density of visitors.

"If Braga is too crowded by people celebrating New Year, we will also close it," said Wahyu.

Wahyu appealed to the public to obey the instructions of officers in the field and celebrate the New Year's Eve in an orderly manner for the sake of safety.
