Finex and doctorSHARE Support Access to Health in the Islands Region

JAKARTA - The limited access to health services in the Indonesian archipelago is still a structural challenge. Data from the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and the Ministry of Health shows that Indonesia still lacks around 124,294 general practitioners from the ideal target of the World Health Organization (WHO) of 1 doctor per 1,000 residents, as well as a deficit of 29,179 specialists from the ideal ratio of 0.28 per 1,000 residents. The inequality in the distribution of medical personnel exacerbates the condition, with around 59 percent of specialist doctors concentrated on Java Island, while the archipelago and remote areas face health service limitations.

As a manifestation of commitment to supporting community welfare and equitable access to health services, Finex, a regulated broker that has received an A+++ rating from the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) for three consecutive years in 2025, provides support for the humanitarian mission of the Dr. Lie Dharmawan II Hospital Ship (RSK) which was initiated by doctorSHARE on Tidung Island, Thousand Islands. This program is part of Finex's ongoing efforts to support health services for people in areas with limited medical facilities.

Through this program, more than 400 beneficiaries have received health services that include major and minor surgical procedures, general health checks, medication, and public health education. The doctorSHARE Ship Hospital initiative has been operating since 2013, reaching various remote islands in Indonesia to address the challenges of limited health facilities, limited medical personnel, and difficult access to specialist services.

In carrying out this mission, doctorSHARE also coordinates with the Thousand Islands Regency Government and the local Health Office, to ensure that the service runs effectively and is targeted. Finex also contributed through a donation of IDR 160,000,000, which was used to support the operation and sustainability of medical services during the mission.

This support is also part of Finex's 13th anniversary, marking the company's journey which not only focuses on growth in the financial industry, but also on real contributions to society. Through this CSR initiative, Finex emphasizes its commitment to continue supporting access to health services and community welfare, especially in island areas and areas that still face limitations in medical services.
