JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) is building bridges in three provinces affected by floods and landslides to restore mobility and help distribute logistics for disaster victims.

TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto said that the installation of bailey bridges or types of bridges made of metal panels had been built as many as 32 bridges in disaster-affected areas.

In addition to the bailey bridge, said Agus, the TNI also plans to install an aramco bridge or a type of bridge with a culvert in the middle.

Several of the Aramco bridges, according to Agus, have been completed and people are normally using the bridges.

"Then also the preparation and installation of the Aramco bridge, there are 40 bridges being built, and some have been completed and have been used by the community," he said.

Agus said the TNI had also sent 2,669.53 tons of logistics through several routes, including land routes.

"The logistics that have been distributed are 2,669.53 tons, namely through air force airdrop, through KRI and ADRI ships to assistance through land routes," he said.
