JAKARTA - Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming invited Christians on Christmas Eve, Wednesday to pray for victims of natural disasters in a number of areas in the country, especially Sumatra.

In his message, the Vice President hopes that this year's Christmas celebration can be a moment that brings joy and peace, as well as strengthens togetherness in the midst of families and the surrounding environment.

"I congratulate you on celebrating Christmas Day to Christian brothers throughout the country. May this Christmas be a moment of joy and peace with family and loved ones," he said.

The Vice President also invited Christians and all Indonesian people to pray together for their fellow countrymen, especially in Sumatra who are facing disaster.

In addition, the Vice President also expressed his appreciation to all parties who have actively contributed to maintaining security, the smooth flow of homecoming, and creating a safe, peaceful, and respectful atmosphere for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026, according to President Prabowo Subianto's instructions.

"I also thank the TNI, Polri, ASN, and all components of the nation for their active contribution in maintaining the homecoming flow and creating a safe, peaceful, and wise Christmas and New Year atmosphere, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
