JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that he did not want to question too much the naming of DKI Jakarta Provincial Government programs during his leadership. According to him, the name is not the main thing, but the success of the implementation of programs in the field.
The statement was made by Pramono after the signing of the flood and rob control project named JakTirta at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, December 24. The naming of JakTirta follows the naming pattern of the DKI Provincial Government program in the era of Governor Anies Baswedan, who often uses the prefix "Jak" such as JakLingko, JakWifi, and JakHabitat.
"Yes, don't change it. If it's JakTirta, it's just JakTirta. Later, change the governor, change it again. The name is not important, but the most important thing is how we can work on the realization in the field," said Pramono.
He emphasized that any program will provide benefits for the community if it is optimally and consistently carried out by all levels of local government, regardless of who the leader is and what the name of the program is.
Pramono also hopes that various programs and slogans that have begun to be chanted during his leadership can be continued by the next governor. One of them is the "Jaga Jakarta" movement which was first introduced after the riots at the end of August 2025.
"Including 'Jaga Jakarta', in my opinion, it's good. There's no need to change it just because the governor or whoever his name is wants to be recorded in history. If I don't want to be recorded, the most important thing is that everything is finished," he said.
Furthermore, Pramono emphasized that he did not mind continuing or perfecting the projects initiated by the previous governors. According to him, continuity of development is much more important than political or personal interests.
He gave examples of a number of old issues that were of concern to him, such as the controversy over the Sumber Waras Hospital land since the era of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), the improvement of infrastructure at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) which began during Anies Baswedan's time, to the plan to demolish the broken monorail pole on Jalan Rasuna Said.
"In this next year, I really hope that things related to monorail, Sumber Waras Hospital, then in North Jakarta there are roads with different heights, which must be resolved. Including the improvement of the lake around JIS, the Cincin lake," concluded Pramono.
With this attitude, Pramono emphasized his commitment to focus on solving concrete problems in Jakarta, instead of being trapped in debates about symbols, names, or political heritage alone.
