BOGOR - The National Consultative Meeting (Munas) VII Alumni Association (HA) of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) University which was held at the IPB Dramaga Campus on December 20-21, 2025 ended with the election of the new captain. However, this four-year-old event was marred by tension and violent protests from a number of regional delegations.

Tensions peaked on Saturday (20/12/2024), when the verification process for membership took place. The delegation from the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the HA IPB Papua Province together with nine Branch Leadership Councils (DPC) under it were prohibited from entering the court arena as full participants (participants with voting rights).

The committee stated that the rejection was based on the delay in collecting administrative documents which were an absolute requirement according to the organization's rules and regulations. This decision triggered a strong protest in front of the gate of the event location.

"We have come from the easternmost part of Indonesia with a sense of family to raise the alma mater, but we are actually being held back by rigid administrative affairs," said one of the representatives of the Papua delegation in his speech.

The crowd tried to break in, which forced the campus security and internal alumni to carry out tight guarding to prevent physical clashes.

The situation calmed down after the chairman of the session and the representative of the DPP HA IPB mediated with the Papuan representative. Although they still did not get the right to vote because of the AD/ART rules that must be upheld, the Papuan representative was finally given space as a reviewer to continue to follow the course of the National Congress.

The committee emphasized that the administration's firmness was necessary to maintain the integrity of the results of the National Congress so that it would not be legally challenged later.

After a fairly intense dynamic, the agenda for the election of the General Chair and Secretary-General ran until Sunday (21/12/2025) early morning. The result, the pair of Fauzi H. Amro and Anggawira were officially elected as the General Chair and Secretary-General of the HA IPB DPP for the 2025-2029 period.

The two managed to pocket the majority of votes, defeating other candidates. In his victory speech, Fauzi Amro emphasized the importance of the unity of all alumni elements after the competition ended.

"Munas is the dynamics of democracy. If there is friction, it is a sign of alumni concern for this organization. Our task now is to embrace everyone, including colleagues from Papua, to synergize for IPB and Indonesia," said Fauzi.
