JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has designated 10 sub-districts as priority locations in poverty alleviation in its area so that poverty alleviation efforts in the capital can be more targeted.
"It doesn't mean that other regions, no. It knows that the Jakarta region is scattered, let's try it in these 10, focus on it. The 10 sub-districts are Cengkareng, Kalideres, Tambora (West Jakarta); Jagakarsa (South Jakarta); Johar Baru (Central Jakarta); Jatinegara (East Jakarta); Penjaringan, Pademangan, Tanjung Priok (North Jakarta); and South Thousand Islands (Thousand Islands).
"The location is in five city areas and the Thousand Islands, including areas with high levels of social and economic vulnerability," said Rano.
He said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had carried out technical guidance for poverty alleviation based on collaboration in 10 priority locations for poverty alleviation.
"I specifically ask the Assistant for People's Welfare together with Bappeda and the KSD Bureau to prepare a collaboration scheme with strategic partners that are integrated with the DTSEN digital platform. Mayors and regents are expected to actively oversee the implementation of action plans in their respective regions," explained Rano.
Rano also asked his staff to complete the preparation of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) this year so that it can be used in 2026 so that the distribution of social assistance and social protection is more effective and accurate.
According to him, the digital platform will be a tool for the DKI Provincial Government to monitor, control, and evaluate all the progress of poverty alleviation performance in Jakarta.
"Digital platforms that can be accessed by all of us, whether it is regional devices, ministries, institutions, and strategic partners, can be provided by the beginning of January 2026," he said.
Meanwhile, referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) DKI Jakarta, the number of poor people in Jakarta in March 2025 was 464,87 thousand people, up 15,8 thousand people compared to September 2024 which reached 449,07 thousand people.
The poverty rate in Jakarta in March 2025 was 4.28 percent, up 0.14 percent compared to September 2024 which was 4.14 percent. However, when compared to March 2024, the poverty rate in March 2025 decreased by 0.02 percent, from 4.3 percent to 4.28 percent.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government targets the poverty rate to be in the range of 1.82 percent to 2.91 percent by 2030, while the extreme poverty rate is 0 percent.
