JAKARTA - Venezuela appreciates Russia's call to maintain a zone of peace in the Caribbean and its solidarity with the Venezuelan people.

"On behalf of President Nicolas Maduro, we express our sincere gratitude to the Russian Federation for its solidarity with the Venezuelan people and its integral right to self-determination and free and sovereign development," said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto on Telegram, reported TASS, Friday, December 19.
