JAKARTA - TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto explained the progress of the bailey bridge construction in 32 points of flood disaster locations in North Sumatra, West Sumatra and Aceh.
The bailey bridge was built to connect the area whose access road was cut off because the land route was damaged by flash floods.
Agus said there were 18 bridge construction points in Aceh.
"Seven units are in the installation phase, then there is the Teupin Reudeup Bridge which is 99 percent, then the Teuipin Mane Juli Bridge is 100 percent and has been used by the community," said Agus as reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 19.
"Then the Kuta Blang Bridge is 60 percent, the Jerata Bridge is in the installation stage, then the Alue Kulus Bridge, the Enang Enang Bridge, the Weh Pase Bridge," he added.
Agus continued that there were several bridge units in the preparation stage located in Weh Ni Rongka, Jeumpa, Beutong Ateh Lampahan, Titik Merah, Bluka Teubai, Timang Gajah, Jamur Ujung, Lenang, Mambong, and Jambo Mosque.
In the North Sumatra region, said the Commander, there are three bailey bridges that have been installed 100 percent, namely the Anggoli Sibangun Bridge, the Garoga Tapsel Bridge, and the Hamparan Perak Bridge which is currently in the construction process.
Finally, in the West Sumatra region, there are 11 bailey bridges that have been built. Of the 11 units, the bridges that have been completed are the Sikabau Pasaman Barat Bridge, the Lower Gubang Bridge, the Supayung Bridge, and the Padang Mantuang Bridge.
"The rest is still in the process of construction," he said.
While working on the bridge, the TNI commander added, TNI personnel are also actively distributing logistics to several areas using helicopters and transport aircraft.
TNI personnel will also continue to be deployed to assist in post-disaster recovery. "I report the involvement of TNI personnel who are already existing, currently 36,636 people," he said.
With all these efforts, the TNI Commander hopes that the post-disaster recovery process in Aceh and Sumatra can run optimally.
