JAKARTA - The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police has dismantled a case of circulation of 2,463 counterfeit dollar bills in the city of Tangerang, Banten.
"Seizing counterfeit money in the form of 1,934 sheets of US Dollars and 529 sheets of Singapore Dollars," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Police Edy Suranta Sitepu, Friday, December 19.
Edy explained that the disclosure began with public information regarding the rampant circulation of foreign money that was suspected to be fake and disturbing.
"Based on public information, we conducted an investigation and the results, two suspects were successfully secured," he said.
The disclosure was made at around 06.00 WIB under the JPO Crossing Bridge in Tangerang City on Thursday, December 18.
"Securing the suspect HS while he was on the Pandeglang-Kalideres bus route, the suspect was known to play a role as a distributor of counterfeit money," he said.

"The two suspects are currently being detained at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. Investigators are conducting the investigation process," he said.
