Alternative National Cross Emergency Bridge in Bireuen Aceh Completed

BANDA ACEH - The construction of a bailey bridge in the Awe Geutah area, Peusangan Siblah Krueng District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, which was previously damaged by flash floods has been completed, and can be used by two-wheeled to six-wheeled vehicles.

"Alhamdulillah, the Teupin Reudeup-Awe Geutah bailey bridge has been connected," said the Awe Geutah Bailey Bridge Project Manager, Munizar from PT Takabeya, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, December 18.

This bailey or emergency bridge connects Awe Geutah Paya Village, Peusangan Siblah Krueng District with Teupin Reudeup Village, South Peusangan District, Bireuen. The 35-meter-long emergency bridge was prepared as a temporary alternative route for the Banda Aceh-Medan national highway. Considering that the main bridge in Kuta Blang, Bireuen was also collapsed by the flood, and it took longer to recover.

The construction of this bailey bridge was carried out by the Ministry of PU with the assistance of soldiers from the Yonzipur TNI AD, and also assisted by the local community.

The bailey bridge has a length of 35 meters, and for the capacity of vehicles and goods that can be held a maximum of 12 tons.

Munizar said, starting tonight, the bailey bridge can be passed by two-wheeled, four-wheeled and six-wheeled vehicles. "It can be passed by two wheels, four wheels and six wheels," he said.

With the resumption of this line, the transportation and mobility of the community on the Banda Aceh route can run normally in the Bireuen area to North Aceh to Medan.
