West Aceh Regency Receives Rp4 Billion in Aid from President Prabowo

WEST ACEH - The West Aceh Regency Government (Pemkab) has received Rp4 billion in aid from President Prabowo Subianto for handling the natural disaster of flash floods.

"We are grateful to the president for the assistance he has provided," said West Aceh Regent Tarmizi to ANTARA in Meulaboh, Tuesday, December 16.

The assistance of IDR 4 billion will be used for post-disaster handling of flash floods and overflow floods, which occurred in ten sub-districts in the area.

Tarmizi said assistance from the government was needed to rebuild a number of public infrastructure damaged by natural disasters, including rebuilding damaged and affected houses by natural disasters.

The West Aceh Regency Government, said Tarmizi, also hopes that the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto will help with rehabilitation and reconstruction funds, which require funds of up to hundreds of billions of rupiah.

The regional government, according to him, also asked the central government to help with the cost of rehabilitating rice fields and agricultural land of the community that was damaged by the natural disaster of flash floods.

"We also need this rehabilitation assistance to rehabilitate the rice fields, so that farmers can return to planting as before," he said.

The West Aceh Regency Government has ensured that around 2,100 hectares of rice fields that have been planted by farmers spread across 10 sub-districts are now severely damaged due to the onslaught of flash floods that occurred last Wednesday (26/11).
