JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded as many as 6,530 people in 22 villages in Cirebon Regency, West Java, were affected by the floods that hit on December 13-14, 2025.

"Floods began to enter the residential areas of residents around 23.00 WIB, Saturday (December 13)," said Head of Emergency and Logistics BPBD Cirebon Regency Hadi Eko when confirmed in Cirebon, Sunday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the flood event this weekend was triggered by heavy rainfall with a long duration that flooded the Cirebon Regency area, causing a number of rivers to overflow.

Hadi detailed that the total number of people affected by the flood reached 6,530 people from 1,843 heads of households (KK), with the number of temporary refugees recorded at 15 people.

"Floods occurred in 22 villages and sub-districts spread across 10 sub-districts, in Cirebon Regency," he said.

According to him, the height of the water in the flood-affected area varies, ranging from 10 cm to 100 cm, which causes roads and residents' houses to be submerged.

Hadi said that the area with a large number of residents affected by flooding was in Junjang Wetan Village, Arjawinangun District, with more than 4,000 people.

In addition, he said, the Cirebon Regency BPBD also recorded the impact of the event on infrastructure and public facilities, with a total of 1,306 units submerged in floodwaters.

"Several public facilities such as schools, places of worship, and businesses were also submerged, and there was damage to the river containment dikes in Kebarepan Village," he said.

Hadi said that until now, there were no reports of injured victims or deaths due to the flood.

In handling emergencies, BPBD together with TNI, Polri, and volunteer elements have carried out assessments and searches to the affected locations.

"Our current focus is on evacuating affected residents and meeting basic needs," he said.

He said the BPBD had distributed initial assistance in the form of blankets to residents and prepared logistical needs for flood-affected communities.

In addition, he revealed that the urgent needs that are still needed now include clean water, sanitation, ready-to-eat food, as well as cleaning mud and garbage after the flood.

Until Sunday afternoon, he continued, the weather conditions in the Cirebon Regency area were observed to be light rain, but several flood points were reported to have not completely receded.

"We appeal to the public, especially those living in flood-prone areas, to remain vigilant against the potential for subsequent flooding," he said.
