JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the proliferation of running and marathon events had a direct impact on economic turnover and tax realization in Jakarta.

Pramono admitted that the realization of taxes in this year's APBD has reached the target by mid-December 2025. This is thanks to the many marathon activities this year which contribute to the income of the UMKM sector, hotels, and other supporting services.

"The most concrete example is the Jakarta International Marathon. We have calculated, measured, at that time contributed from (economic turnover) MSMEs, hotels, and so on, Rp85 billion more or less," said Pramono after participating in the JEKATE Running Series in South Jakarta, Minguu, December 14.

Pramono assessed that other running events with fewer participants than the Jakarta International Marathon still have a significant economic impact. According to him, the cumulative effect of various events contributed to Jakarta's tax achievement this year.

"If there are several series (marathons) that are more or less likely to be lower than the Jakarta International Marathon, I predict that only half of it. And it can be seen from Jakarta until today, December 13, the tax has been relatively fulfilled," he said.

Pramono also touched on the start of a new running event initiated by PAM Jaya entitled Jekate Running Series. The event was held in five administrative city areas of Jakarta and became an additional agenda for mass-scale sports in the capital.

Pramono called this event a signal that Jakarta is open to anyone who wants to hold a sports event. It is this contribution to the economic sector that makes Pramono also interested in becoming a participant in the marathon event in the Capital

"This shows that Jakarta is very open to anyone who wants to hold a running event and so on. So with that, I encourage it," he said.

Previously, Pramono also touched on the condition of Jakarta's inflation, which until November 2025 was at 2.27 percent. He estimated that December's inflation was still within the safe limit according to the national target.

"So that way Jakarta will definitely have an inflation of around 2.6 or 2.7. So it is still plus minus 2.5 plus 1 that is announced by the central government," said Pramono some time ago.

He said that this condition makes Jakarta relatively safe in terms of tax revenue and economic growth. Pramono emphasized the role of Jakarta as the largest contributor to the national economy.

"Jakarta is still safe for tax revenue in 2025. Jakarta, as we all know, contributes 16.61 percent of our GDP. Our growth will be around 5 percent," he said.

"This shows that Jakarta is still the focus of hope in Indonesia. Because of its largest contribution, 16.61 percent," continued Pramono.
