The IPB University Board of Trustees (MWA) officially inaugurated Dr Alim Setiawan as an Inter-Time Substitute (PAW) for the Rector of IPB University for the remainder of the 2023 period 2028. He studied undergraduate and master in the IPB Agricultural Industry Technology Study Program, and earned a doctorate at Ehime University, Japan. Dr. Alim's career at IPB is quite long, he has served as Deputy Chancellor for Resources and Infrastructure Resilience (2023 2025).

In his remarks, Dr. Alim Setiawan was determined to continue the foundations of the previous chancellor. He said that his leadership would be future-oriented, encourage leaps of innovation, and provide room for growth for the entire academic community.
