Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi checked conditions and activities at the main post for assistance for the Sumatran disaster at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Air Force Base (Lanud), Jakarta, before leaving for North Sumatra.

In the last two weeks, the aid post at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base has become a center for receiving and distributing aid for disaster victims in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

From the post, the assistance was consolidated by the National Disaster Management Agency together with the TNI, then packaged and transported using aircraft carrying the Indonesian Air Force.

At the aid post, Prasetyo Hadi checked the availability of logistics, including the condition of packaging aid goods. Pras, Prasetyo's nickname, then asked for emergency requests from the field in areas affected by the disaster to be met as quickly as possible.

Pras also had a chance to chat with several officers who arranged the distribution of aid and asked them about the stock readiness and obstacles faced by officers and volunteers while on duty.

Pras also noted the latest reports regarding the distribution of aid from Halim Air Base to affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, in his small notebook which he always carries around the post.

"If the stock runs out here, it's ready or lacking. Well, we encourage it according to the protection needed from here," Pras said during a conversation with one of the officers reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10.

Pras told the officers, then reminded them that the communication route between the main post and the posts in the regions must always be smooth, so that there are no obstacles and delays in the distribution of aid.

Pras checked the situation at the post with the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Yuliot Tanjung, who at that time helped oversee the distribution of aid compiled from the extended family of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and stakeholders of the ESDM sector.

"Aid (from ESDM, ed.) will be put on a cargo plane this afternoon at 18:00 WIB, and the plan is for the plane to be dispatched to the disaster site tomorrow morning at 05.00 WIB to three airport points, Lhokseumawe, Sibolga (Pinangsori) and Minangkabau Airport ," said Yuliot.

After reviewing the post, Pras then continued his flight to North Sumatra to directly check the current condition of the disaster-affected community as well as handling the impact of the disaster.

"The visit to the field is part of the government's efforts to ensure that all policies and instructions of President Prabowo Subianto regarding the acceleration of disaster management are actually carried out concretely in the field," he said.
