7 Prabowo Directions For The Recovery Of The Aceh Disaster In Sumatra

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto delivered seven important directions in a limited meeting for disaster management at the Aceh National Disaster Management Assistance Post, Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Force Base, Aceh Besar, Sunday, December 7 evening.

Based on the records of Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya at the meeting, the President highlighted the need for speed, accuracy, and consistency of actions from all elements of the government to ensure the safety and acceleration of the recovery of residents affected by floods and landslides in Aceh and other areas of Sumatra.

"First, the importance of speed, accuracy, and consistency of actions from all elements of the government to ensure the safety and recovery of affected residents," he said through an official statement from the Cabinet Secretariat, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 8.

The Head of State also emphasized that integrated operations between the TNI, Polri, Basarnas, BNPB, and local governments must continue to be strengthened, especially in reopening disconnected regional connectivity and accelerating aid distribution.

Regarding the number of houses damaged by flash floods, the President said that re-development support would be a priority in the post-disaster recovery phase.

Although a number of field challenges are still being met due to natural conditions that must be watched out for, the government is committed to handling it gradually, measurably, and sustainably.

President Prabowo also requested that the management of the distribution of aid be carried out more carefully, especially ensuring the availability and accuracy of the distribution of medicines as a priority requirement.

In addition, President Prabowo also highlighted the importance of fulfilling clothes for affected residents, both through government programs and public participation in the form of donations of suitable clothes.

At the end of his directive, the President emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and clean governance in all disaster management processes.

He expressed his appreciation for the strong synergy between the central and regional governments, the joint apparatus, volunteers, and the community who were considered to be the main force in accelerating recovery in the affected areas.
