JAKARTA Assistance for flood survivors Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra began to arrive. Dompet Dhuafa together with PT Food Station Tjipinang collaborated in distributing foodstuffs for survivors in Sumatra and Aceh. In the release on Friday, (05/12) attended by DR. Saleh Partaonan Daulay, M.AG., M.HUM., MA as Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI then Head of the Sales & Commercial Division of PT Food Station Dahri Virdian Djauhari, and Ahmad Juwaini as Chairman of the Dompet Foundation Dhuafa Republika.

A total of 60 tons, consisting of oil, sugar, flour, ready-to-eat food, are distributed through the Food Station Warehouse, Cipinang, Jakarta. The plan will be directly distributed by sea and the warehouse point is in Medan, North Sumatra.

Given that in the field currently food and ready-to-eat food is urgently needed for survivors, the lack of clean water sanitation to fuel causes fast food to be very reliable.

As of yesterday Thursday, (4/12) 770 people died, while 463 people were missing and 2,600 people were injured. For public facilities 354 were damaged, 9 health facilities were damaged, 213 educational facilities were damaged, 132 houses of worship were damaged, 100 buildings or offices damaged up to 295 bridges damaged.

The affected areas are 51 regencies in 3 provinces of Sumatra and Aceh. The beneficiaries have reached 34,078 people, 153 people have been evacuated, 380 ready-to-eat meals have been distributed, there are 884 clean action points, 244 clean water distribution, 1,709 hot postal points, 28,638 public kitchen points, 70 cheerful garden points to a distribution of 2000 food packages.

Emergency needs must be immediately rolled out of food packages, hygiene, mothers and children, beddings and blankets, sanitation of clean water and health services.
