Ministry Of Defense Receives Grants For 4 Tactical Vehicles From Agrinas Puntuk Operational Bencana

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Defense received a grant from PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara in the form of four units of Scorpio Vigar's double cabin tactical vehicle for disaster management operations on the island of Sumatra.

Regarding the placement of the four vehicles, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense Lieutenant General TNI Tri Budi Utomo will first coordinate with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and National Army (TNI) Task Force in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.

"Of course we hope to be able to help in the three affected areas," he said at a press conference after the symbolic activity of receiving the grant, reported by ANTARA, Friday, December 5.

With the grants provided, he hopes that logistics distribution can be easier because Scorpio Vigar is equipped with a powerful M-OLD engine and a shift-on-the-fly4x4 driving system.

Therefore, he said, the vehicle was able to switch driving mode instantly without stopping so that it was very crucial when crossing the evacuation route which was changing from damaged asphalt to extreme mud fields.

The tactical vehicle also has a rear cabin that allows it to carry logistics to be distributed to disaster-affected communities.

With a good design, Tri said that the donated tactical vehicles also already have an fuel oil efficiency system (BBM) so as not to be too wasteful, considering that disaster-affected areas usually experience fuel shortages.

"We hope that this can be more operational than vehicles that are wasteful of fuel," he said.

The flash flood and landslides that occurred from late November to early December 2025 had resulted in severe infrastructure damage, cut off national road access, and isolated dozens of districts/cities in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Therefore, Tri said the terrain covered by thick mud and landslide material demanded the presence of vehicles with special specifications.

Thus, he emphasized that tactical vehicle assistance is vital to support humanitarian operations that are instructed to be national priorities.

The four units will soon be dispatched to penetrate isolation in areas affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"This step is a tangible manifestation of the synergy of non-military defense in tackling national disasters, ensuring that every element of the nation work hand in hand to restore conditions in Sumatra," said Tri.
