Pramono Asks Jakarta Heads Of Villages Not To Create Lebay Imaging Content On Social Media

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reminded sub-district heads and village heads not to overdo displaying government activity content or related to their positions to be uploaded on social media (medsos).

Pramono emphasized that government communication to the public must take place honestly and proportionally, not just imaging. This was revealed by Pramono at the Townhall Meeting with the lurah, sub-district head, and ranks of Forkopimcam throughout Jakarta.

"Whatever we do, we must also be able to communicate well in public spaces. No matter how good the decisions we make, but if it is not communicated properly through the existing media, the public also does not know," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, December 12.

Pramono emphasized that he was not anti-social media use by government officials. However, Pramono asked the content made not to be dramatic or exaggerated in order to build a certain image.

"But I also want that what we communicate is what we are. It shouldn't be too much, especially then, I'm sorry, it's made as if it's certain content," said Pramono.

He added that the important thing is transparency and focus on improving work. "It's okay, the content is okay, but basically I want that Jakarta let's build together as it is. The good is good, the less we fix and so on," he continued.

In addition to the matter of public communication, Pramono asked the sub-district and sub-district ranks to begin to strengthen preparedness for the rainy season. High rainfall forecasts, including the potential for tidal flooding, are referred to as a situation that needs to be anticipated as early as possible.

Pramono asked all active regional apparatuses to check drainage conditions and immediately coordinate if a problematic channel was found. He emphasized that reports need to be made without waiting for command so that handling is not too late.

"As a sub-district head, as a village head, where you are, if there is a channel that is not good enough, immediately report it. Whether it is your responsibility or is the responsibility of Water Resources, and so on, must be coordinated immediately," he said.

The former Cabinet Secretary alluded to the experience of other areas affected by flash floods as a reminder that readiness must begin before a disaster occurs.

On the one hand, Pramono encouraged the village head and sub-district head to coordinate with residents to maximize environmental facilities, including houses of worship, as a point of spread of early warning during floods.

"Mosques, churches and so on, because they have mosques, especially mosques, they have speakers and so on. It is used for early warning," said Pramono.

In addition, Pramono asked the sub-district and sub-district ranks to strengthen cooperation with security elements at the regional level such as Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa. According to Pramono, good relations at the lower level will facilitate the handling of problems in the field.

"Because if this relationship is good below, I believe this will be our main asset to face critical days in the future such as facing high rainfall, as well as Christmas and New Year," he concluded.
