BANDA ACEH The Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command distributed a total of 1.5 tons of logistical assistance containing food and medicines for residents affected by the disaster in Langsa City, East Aceh Regency using the MI-17 V5 Helicopter with registration number HA-5157 from Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base, Tuesday 2 December

The operation using helicopters is a quick step in responding to the needs of the community who are still struggling due to a number of cut land routes and limited logistics distribution in several affected areas.

The MI-17 V5 helicopter was selected because of its ability to reach difficult areas and its large transport capacity, so it is considered the most effective for medium-range assistance missions.

Pangdam Iskandar Muda, Maj. Gen. Joko Hadi Susilo, said that the delivery of this logistics was a form of concern and responsibility for the IM Military Command in supporting local governments to accelerate disaster management. He emphasized that TNI soldiers are always ready to provide assistance whenever people need it.

"Today's delivery is part of the continuous efforts of the IM Kodam to ensure that the basic needs of the residents can be met. We will continue to monitor the conditions in the affected areas and increase assistance when needed," said Military Commander Iskandar Muda.

The assistance with a total weight of 1.5 tons includes ready-to-eat food packages for Eprocal consumption, vitamins, essential medicines, and medical support equipment. All logistics have been prepared by IM Kodam personnel so that they can be distributed immediately as soon as they arrive in Langsa.

After a flight of several tens of minutes, the MI-17 V5 helicopter is scheduled to land directly at the distribution points set by the local government and the emergency response team. From that location, assistance will be distributed to residents most in need with the support of TNI personnel, BPBD, and local volunteers.
