JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health has added support for health services and logistics for areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Head of the Health Crisis Center, Agus Jamaludin, said that as a first step, direct rapid health assessments have been carried out to map out risks and urgent needs.

All health centers and hospitals have been alerted, including strengthening mobile services and health posts in evacuations.

"We are strengthening basic services, screening, handling infectious diseases, and monitoring vulnerable groups such as toddlers, pregnant women, and the elderly," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 2.

The Ministry of Health is coordinating closely with the regional health office to ensure that the health needs of residents are met without a break.

In addition to target data collection, health logistics support that has been sent by the Ministry of Health as of December 1, 2025 includes 103 units of oxygen concentrators, 11,200 boxes of Toddler Provision of Additional Food (PMT), and 6,000 boxes of PMT for Pregnant Women.

Then drugs, BMHP, 2,000 surgical masks, 500 medical gloves, 10 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) officers, five pairs of boots, two manual passengers, two packages of water quality test kits, and 100 folding jerry cans.

"Then 93 body bags, 5,500 medical trash bags of various sizes, clearer packages and water disinfectants, as well as 25 boxes of medicines for health services," he said.

To strengthen the field response, he said, the Ministry of Health also sent a crisis assistance team to each province that was affected, as well as to activate the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) cluster.

"The Ministry of Health also installs Starlink devices to maintain smooth communication," he said.

In essential health services, three EMT Health Reserve Teams have been deployed.

"In West Sumatra, 13 service points are opened with professional organizations, ranging from public services, psychological consultations, to breastfeeding assistance," he added.

For strengthening referrals, EMT vertical hospitals, including Adam Malik Hospital, RSCM, and M Djamil Padang RSUP have been prepared.

His party also sent emergency specialists, orthopedics, obgyns, children, anesthesia, general practitioners, and nurses to ensure that services remain optimal.

"We continue to monitor the situation and are ready to increase support when needed," said Agus.
