Prabowo In Pariaman: The State Doesn't Let People Take Their Own Burden

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stated that disaster-affected communities will never be left alone by the government.

He conveyed the message directly in front of the flash flood survivors, when the President inspected the disaster site in Padang Pariaman, Monday, December 1.

"We are all one big family, we will not let our own brothers and sisters bear the burden," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA.

During the visit, President Prabowo conveyed good news that the weather had improved and many aid had reached the affected areas.

He also reported on the development of basic infrastructure recovery in a number of areas.

"Alhamdulillah, the weather has improved, thank God a lot of aid has also arrived. I received reports that almost 100 percent of electricity in North Sumatra. The water is being repaired, we are all forming bridges. God willing, we will fix everything, we will help damaged houses," he said.

"Alhamdulillah!" said a resident in the local area.

President Prabowo explained that some districts are still difficult to reach by land, but the government ensures that the distribution of aid continues to run by air.

"Several districts have not been able to penetrate from land, but we have been able to visit from the air, from helicopters, planes. In Aceh too," he said.

To the families of the victims, the Head of State conveyed prayers and condolences.

"My condolences to the families who have lost. I pray that these mothers are strong," he said.

The President then emphasized that the government is fully working for the people and will ensure that state management runs clean.

The government of the Republic of Indonesia belongs to the people. We work for the people, we serve the people. We will manage the wealth of the country so that it can help the people. So that there are no leaks, no thieves steal people's money," he said.

The President then asked the residents, who were immediately answered with cheers of support.

"Do you like it if I brush all the thieves?" he said.

'Long live Prabowo!' said the residents providing support.

Before ending the visit, President Prabowo appreciated the determination of the citizens who remained enthusiastic despite being hit by a disaster.

"Thank you, even though you are having a hard time but your enthusiasm is extraordinary!" he said, accompanied by the residents' hopes that President Prabowo would always be healthy.
