Inaugurated As DKI Regional Secretary, Uus Kuswanto Reveals Tasks Of Helping Pramono-Rano Complete Campaign Promises

JAKARTA - Uus Kuswanto officially served as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta after being inaugurated by Governor Pramono Anung at DKI Jakarta City Hall.

After being inaugurated, Uus emphasized that he would be responsible for coordinating the DKI Provincial Government bureaucracy, including in the big agenda of preparing the Pramono 'Rano Karno government priority program promised since the 2024 Pilkada campaign.

"I was just inaugurated. Of course I will carry out my duties and responsibilities to help the Governor and Deputy Governor in order to fulfill their promises and carry out tasks in order to provide the best service to the community," said Uus, Monday, December 1.

The inauguration of Uus took place in the midst of the process of drafting the 2026 DKI Regional Budget. As the Regional Secretary, he automatically led the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD), which was tasked with completing budget documents for discussion with the DKI DPRD.

Uus emphasized that his first step was internal consolidation with regional officials to ensure budget discussions were running according to time targets.

"After this, I immediately coordinated with my friends from the provincial government, especially TAPD, and maybe later we will communicate further with the DKI Jakarta DPRD," said Uus.

He said the acceleration of the preparation of the APBD was crucial so that priority programs planned by the government could be executed at the beginning of the year. "So that what is the target of discussing the Jakarta APBD is on time and can be executed according to plan," he continued.

For information, Pramono officially inaugurated Uus Kuswanto as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta based on Presidential Decree Number 184/TPA of 2025. Uus now replaces Marullah Matali, who has entered retirement at the age of 60 years as of 27 November.

Uus is a career bureaucrat who has been in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government from the start. This graduate of the 1995 State Administration Institute (IPDN) started his position as Village Head of Rawa Village, Johar Baru District, Central Jakarta from 2005 to 2007.

Uus' position increased as the year progressed from the kelurahan, sub-district, service tribe, to being the Mayor of West Jakarta in 2020-2021. Then, Uus served as Assistant for People's Welfare (Kesra) of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat in 2021-2023.

Uus also had time to serve as Acting (Pj) Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Province on December 3, 2022-15 February 2023, until the Mayor of West Jakarta Administration returned from March 21, 2023 until he was sworn in as Secretary of DKI as of December 1, 2025.
