Residents Of Batang Agam River Affected By Isolated Landslides, Logistics Distribution Uses Rubber Boats

JAKARTA - The Padang City National SAR Agency (Basarnas) deployed two rubber boats to Lake Maninjau to help distribute logistics for victims affected by landslides in Batang River, Tanjung Raya District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra.

Padang Basarnas Field Coordinator Atta Priyono said the two rubber boats that were deployed brought logistics to isolated victims due to the impact of landslides in Nagari (Village) Sungai Batang, Tanjung Raya District.

"We lowered two rubber boats to help the local government distribute logistics with a boat belonging to the Agam Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD)," he said in Lubuk Basung, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the distribution of logistics to Nagari Sungai Batang must go through Lake Maninjau, considering that the road to the location affected by landslides at several points, so that traffic flow becomes paralyzed.

"The Maninjau Lake is the only route available to distribute logistics to the Batang River, so it must lower rubber boats," he said.

He admitted that Basarnas Padang focused on finding victims buried by landslides in the Batang River, Tanjung Raya District, so that the distribution of logistics was temporary.

Apart from Tanjung Raya, the search for victims was also carried out in East Malalak, Malak District, Salareh Aia, Palembayan District and others.

"We are looking for victims along with the TNI, Polri, PMI Agam and other volunteers," he said.

Data from BPBD Agam, the total number of victims found dead was 120 victims spread across Malalak District as many as 12 people, Matur one person, Tanjung Raya eight people, Palupuh one person, Palembayan 97 people, and Ampek Nagari one person.

74 people have not been found in Malalak District, 63 people in Palembayan, one person in Lubuk Basung, and four people in Tanjung Raya.
