Prabowo Prioritizes Fuel And Electricity Recovery In Tapteng Isolated Areas

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto prioritizes accelerating distribution of urgent needs, especially fuel oil (BBM) for isolated disaster-affected areas.

The head of state said that when he visited refugees at the coordination center for handling the disaster at the Pandan Sports Hall, Central Tapanuli Regency (Tapteng), North Sumatra, Monday, December 1.

Earlier I was new from Central Tapanuli. Our priority is how to immediately send the necessary assistance, especially fuel which is very important. There are several isolated villages, God willing, we can penetrate," said Prabowo, confiscated by Antara.

Likewise, regarding the need for electricity, Prabowo also said that the recovery of electricity was being pursued optimally.

"Electricity will be opened soon, I think everything can be opened," he added.

On that occasion, Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to various agencies involved in disaster management, including the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), TNI, and Polri which were considered to be moving quickly.

A number of air fleets such as helicopters and transport aircraft have been deployed to support the process of handling and distributing aid.

"We mobilize all of them. God willing, we with close cooperation, good teamwork, we can immediately face this disaster, immediately provide solutions to the current difficulties of the people," said Prabowo.

President Prabowo also said that the weather conditions are now starting to improve. "We are grateful that the weather has improved. The worst prediction has also passed," he said.

However, even though the weather has improved, Prabowo emphasized that increasingly extreme climate change is a long-term challenge that must be anticipated by the central and regional governments.

"This is the current condition. Climate change we must face well. The government must really function to protect the environment, anticipate future conditions. Maybe those in the regions must all be ready to face the conditions of climate change that have an effect," said the President.
