JAKARTA - A number of delegates from various African countries who are members of the L'Afrique qui ose - Afrique Challenge Group are amazed by the achievement of BPJS Kesehatan in building the JKN program which provides health protection for all citizens.
"Achieving UHC in one decade is very challenging, but Indonesia is able to do it very well, even faster than many other countries. With a large population, BPJS Kesehatan can still provide an even health insurance system without exception," said L Afrique qui ose CEO, Alioune Gueye in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday.
According to him, Indonesia is able to show that the success of the health insurance system depends not only on funding, but also on vision, leadership, and the ability to build a solid service ecosystem.
He called the application of technology such as the use of artificial intelligence, data integration, and digitization of administrative processes a visionary step.
"We are amazed how BPJS Kesehatan utilizes technology to improve service quality for JKN participants. The Mobile JKN application is an example of very advanced innovation, providing real convenience for participants in accessing services. In addition, I see the i-Care JKN feature as an important breakthrough because this feature allows doctors at the hospital to know the history of health services for JKN participants, so that it can be handled quickly and appropriately," he said.
According to Alioune, the JKN ecosystem built by BPJS Kesehatan can be a reference for many countries.
He added that the Indonesian people should be proud of the presence of the JKN Program which provides financial protection even when people are sick.
Meanwhile, BPJS Kesehatan President Director Ghufron Mukti welcomed the arrival of delegates from Africa to learn firsthand the implementation of the JKN Program.
"It is not easy for Indonesia to provide health insurance protection for the entire population. However, thanks to the commitment and collaboration with all stakeholders, now more than 98 percent of Indonesia's population is protected by the JKN Program and has obtained the UHC title," said Ghufron.
Ghufron said that digital transformation is an important foundation in supporting improving the quality of JKN Program services.
According to him, by implementing innovations in an adaptive JKN Program, it is ensured that all participants get easy, fast, and equal services.
This transformation is part of BPJS Kesehatan's commitment to present the implementation of a sustainable JKN Program.
"BPJS Kesehatan juga memiliki Performance Management Center untuk monitoring dan evaluasi pelaksanaan Program JKN di lapangan. Dari sini dapat dipantau jumlah transaksi dari seluruh fasilitas kesehatan yang mencapai juta transaksi setiap harinya," imbuh Ghufron.
