JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) revealed the development of floods and landslides in 13 districts/cities in West Sumatra province.
BNPB recorded 23 deaths. 11 people died in Agam Regency, 6 people in Padang Panjang City, 5 people in Padang City, and 1 person in West Pasaman Regency.
"In addition, 12 people were declared missing, with details of 11 people in Agam Regency and 1 person in Pesisir Selatan Regency," said BNPB Main Secretary Rustian, Friday, November 28.
BNPB released a total of 69,239 people displaced, while 45,733 people were affected. Refugees are scattered in educational facilities, houses of worship, to relatives' residences.
In the city of Padang, the number of refugees reached 18,208 people. Padang Pariaman Regency recorded 3,208 residents displaced and 10,437 were affected. Agam Regency reported that 694 residents were displaced, Pasaman 22 people, and Solok Regency 14 people were displaced and 100 were affected.
In Tanah Datar Regency, 85 residents were displaced and 65 were affected. Pesisir Selatan Regency recorded the largest affected residents reaching 47,170 people. Solok City recorded 3,363 affected residents, West Pasaman 2,905 people, Limapuluh Kota 283 people, Pariaman City 675 people, Mentawai Islands 249 people, and Bukittinggi City 68 people.
