Minister Of Manpower: Presidential Regulation Ojol Is Still On Progress

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli ensured that the preparation of presidential regulations (perpres) related to online motorcycle taxis or motorcycle taxis would continue.

According to him, the completion of the Presidential Regulation requires broad coordination because it has many technical issues outside the authority of the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).

"This is still on progress, there are still many. There are some real issues, and that is outside the real Ministry of Manpower. So we need collaboration with other ministries," Yassierli was met after a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, Thursday, November 27, reported by ANTARA.

Yassierli said the legal umbrella preparation process had gone through a number of technical discussions that still needed a communication process with various stakeholders.

However, he ensured that the government was committed to completing the Presidential Decree as soon as possible.

"As soon as possible, we'll just have to wait," he added.

The government is preparing a presidential regulation (perpres) that regulates the ojekojol sector, one of which is protection for driver-partners in the form of social security, work accident guarantees (JKK), to death insurance (JKM).

The regulation is expected to provide transparency regarding the company's employment relationship and driver-partners.

Previously reported, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi conveyed that the draft regulations had been received by his party and still needed a communication process with various stakeholders.

Discussions on the rule have reached the final stages and left only a few technical matters that still need to be agreed upon with the applicator company.

The government targets the regulation to be completed in the near future, even potentially completed before the end of this year.
