Commission III Of The House Of Representatives Proposes That Kakorlantas Be Held As A 3-star General To Easily Coordinate With The Regional Police

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mohammad Rano Alfath, proposed that the position of head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police be held by a National Police officer with the rank of commissioner general (Komjen) or three-star. The proposal was also agreed upon by members of the commission in charge of law and partnering with the Police.

This was conveyed by Rano during a working meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the Head of Traffic Police, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho and Dirlantas Polri throughout Indonesia at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Thursday, November 27.

"We have all discussed in fact, Mr. Kakor, we agreed that for Kakorlantas it must be 3 stars," said Rano, followed by applause from members of Commission III of the DPR who attended.

"Because of what? So that we can coordinate well in all Polda. It's impossible if 2 stars are with the regional police chief and others," he continued.

Rano also appreciated the performance of Kakorlantas and Dirlantas Polri who succeeded in maintaining the image of the Police as law enforcement institutions close to the community.

"The existing members of the Traffic Director are always close to dealing with the community, it can reflect the image of the police themselves. So Mr. Kakor, I thank you, with Mr. Agus as Mr. Kakorlantas, how many times have these good activities, Eid, holidays, thank God there have never been traffic jams, smooth and reduce the accident rate. This is extraordinary, what is more important is to the community," said the PKB legislator from the Banten III electoral district.

"I see that there are members pushing the car, it's raining, this is important, Mr. Kakor, these small things are needed by the community," added Rano.

Rano also praised the performance of Korlantas and Dirlantas Polri under the direction of Inspector General Agus. According to him, the public is no longer afraid of being ticketed by the police, on the other hand, the police also do not need to hide to ticket because there is technology, namely electronic ticketing or E-TLE.

"So people don't need to be (scared) to be ticketed, the police are hiding to be absent, they don't need it anymore, they've gone through those times. Now the technology that you show off, later you will explain, E-TLE is extraordinary and others," said Rano.

"Well, these small things actually have a big impact on the image of the police going forward. There are officers who then return the money behind. Small things like this, these are extraordinary," he continued.

Therefore, Rano hopes that the Dirlantas throughout Indonesia, who are currently in office, can become the next candidate for Kakorlantas, Inspector General Agus, in the future.

"That's why I actually support later (Kakorlantas General Bintang 3), we will actually explain it, later Mr. Kakorlantas will also help explain the entire activity," said Rano.
