Pramono To Germany For A Week, Attend AsiaBerlin Summit And Establish City Cooperation

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung traveled to Germany during November 22, 2025. The Governor's Special Staff for Social Communication, Chico Hakim, said that the main agenda for this visit was to attend the 2025 AsiaBerlin Summit as a keynote speaker and establish city-to-city diplomacy with the Berlin Government.

Chico explained that this visit brought several mandates, ranging from strengthening innovation networks, cooperation in vocational education, to exploring collaboration in smart cities development.

"Especially a visit to Berlin is to fulfill an invitation to attend as a Keynote Speaker in AsiaBerlin Summit," Chico told reporters, Tuesday, November 25.

Pramono's three focuses of visits are city diplomacy, vocational cooperation, and empowerment of the role of the Indonesian diaspora in Germany. In addition, Pramono will also review future city innovations related to mobility, digital green innovation, and smart cities.

The core agenda begins with the AsiaBerlin Summit VIP Breakfast with the Government Major of Berlin. This meeting is an entry point for the discussion of two cities' strategic cooperation in the digital economy, startups, and urban policy sectors.

"This event opened the initial contact at the leadership level and prepared the stage for strategic cooperation between two cities in the innovation ecosystem. The Governor of DKI Jakarta also gave a short speech," said Chico.

After that, Pramono is scheduled to attend a bilateral meeting at Rotes Rathaus. The meeting includes the signing of the Golden Book, the exchange of souvenirs, and discussions on cooperation in urban development, public transportation, as well as social-culture initiatives.

At the opening of the 2025 AsiaBerlin Summit, Pramono appeared as the international speaker keynote. This forum brings together innovation leaders from various countries and becomes a promotional event for the Jakarta technology ecosystem.

"The governor gave testimonials to the AsiaBerlin team, then visited the booths of participating countries, including Indonesia. This is a promotional event for the Jakarta innovation ecosystem as well as investment opportunities," he said.

In addition to the Summit agenda, Pramono will meet GIZ to discuss the collaboration between the Jakarta Future City Hub, green digital innovation, and technical support for Transjakarta. A meeting with the Federal Institute for Vocal Education and Training at the Indonesian Embassy is also scheduled to develop a German-style vocational system.

Pramono then met representatives of the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin to expand the network of collaboration between Jakarta and Germany, especially in the field of education and mobility. Local governments are also preparing dialogue sessions with diaspora in Berlin regarding the contribution of global talent to Jakarta.

On the sidelines of the visit, Pramono visited Berlin Hauptbahnhof to study the integration of the intermodal transportation system. The governor is also scheduled to provide keynotes at The Good Times 2025 at the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin as part of public diplomacy.

Another agenda that is being prepared is a visit to Siemens Global Vocal School. "This agenda will provide space for Jakarta to study German dual systems, explore scholarship opportunities and training, open up opportunities for technology-based pilot vocational education projects in Jakarta," Chico explained.

AsiaBerlin Summit is an annual forum that brings together startups, governments, investors, and industry players from Asia and Europe. This year, the event took place on November 24 with the theme of cross-continental innovation, mobility, FinTech, healthtech, to the creative industry.
