JAKARTA - The results of the Center for Indonesian Strategic Action (CISA) survey show that the majority of the public considers the performance of the Police to be satisfactory. Secretary General of the '98 Reform Activists Network (JARI 98), Peri Supriadi, highlighted the results of this survey as a sign that the public places great trust in police institutions in carrying out law enforcement functions and maintaining civil security.
Peri said the survey released Monday, November 24, 2025, in Jakarta, shows that the public sees the Police as a symbol of civilian supremacy. According to him, this belief is a test as well as an opportunity for the Police to maintain neutrality and professionalism, especially in the midst of complex political dynamics.
This survey shows that the public's hopes for the Police are very large. The public wants the Police to remain under civilian control, carry out their main tasks and functions independently, and not be dragged into practical politics," said Peri. He added that good Police performance is very important for the stability of democracy and the protection of civil rights.
CISA Executive Director, Herry Mendrofa, explained that the survey used four main indicators: law enforcement and cybersecurity, Polri performance, public support and hope for police institutions, and the Polri reform agenda. The results show that the majority of the public is satisfied with the performance of the Police.
Based on the survey, 72 percent of respondents rated the Police's performance to be good, while 19.9 percent considered it still bad, and 8.1 percent did not provide answers. In addition, 77 percent of the public supports the National Police as a symbol of civil supremacy, while 6 percent do not support it, and 17 percent do not provide answers.
Herry emphasized that this positive perception reflects public confidence in the Police's ability to enforce the law, maintain security and protect the public. He added that public support is also important to support the agenda of police reform so that Bhayangkara institutions continue to be professional and transparent.
This survey was conducted on November 14'20, 2025, using the multistage random sampling method, involving 1,320 respondents spread across all provinces in Indonesia.
Interviews were conducted face-to-face, telephone, and digital forms, with a quality control of 20 percent of the total sample.
