JAKARTA - The results of a survey released by the Center for Indonesian Strategic Action (CISA) show that the majority of the public are satisfied with the performance of the Indonesian National Police. The survey, which measures public perceptions through the four main indicators, noted that public trust in the National Police has increased as the agenda of police reforms is ongoing.
The Executive Director of CISA, Herry Mendrofa, said that the survey was conducted to see public perceptions regarding law enforcement and cybersecurity, the performance of the National Police, public expectations of police institutions, and public support for Polri reform. He assessed that the survey results showed a positive trend and strong support for the Police.
"Cumulatively, 76.5 percent of respondents think that the current performance of the National Police is good. The public assesses that Bhayangkara institutions have shown improvement in various aspects," said Herry when presenting the results of a survey in Jakarta, Monday, November 24.
He explained that the level of public satisfaction with the performance of the National Police reached 72 percent. In addition, as many as 69.7 percent of respondents considered that the performance of the Police was quite transparent in dealing with legal issues.
Most of the public also considers that the police standard operational procedures have been implemented properly in handling reports and complaints.
The survey results also showed an increasing public positive assessment of law enforcement and digital space security. A total of 69.5 percent of respondents considered law enforcement to be good at this time, while 62.9 percent of respondents considered cybersecurity to have been running quite effectively.
CISA noted that there is great public hope so that the National Police will continue to strengthen democracy during the Prabowo 'Gibran administration. As many as 72 percent of the community hopes that the National Police can become a symbol of civil supremacy, while 81.3 percent think that the National Police plays an important role in strengthening the democratic space.
