3,698 Houses In East Aceh Flooded, BPBD: Some Evacuated To Evacuate

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Aceh Regency stated that 3,698 houses in five sub-districts in the district were flooded.

The Head of BPBD for East Aceh Regency, Ashadi, said that flooding due to high-intensity rain that had occurred since the last few days had caused some residents of the area to evacuate.

"The water level at several points reached 10 to 50 centimeters, leaving the residents' activities paralyzed. Some residents chose to stay at home, others had to be evacuated and evacuated because the water continued to increase," he said in East Aceh, Monday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Ashadi said that there were five houses and one house in Keude Tuha Village in Simpang Ulim District, namely in Pucok Alu Village, there were five houses and one house in Keude Tuha Village. Residents fled the houses of their relatives and neighbors.

Meanwhile, the houses of other residents were flooded, namely in Simpang Ulim District as many as 123 houses, Nurussalam District reaching 150 houses, Madat District as many as 3,195 houses, Pante Bidari District with 130 houses, and Julok District as many as 100 houses.

"Not only residential areas, floods also inundated rice fields and public facilities, such as Gampong Leung Sa, Madat District, mosque and meunasah, and three schools were flooded," said Ashadi.

In addition to flooding, strong winds accompanied by rain damaged a number of houses. The houses damaged by the natural disaster occurred in Keude Tuha Village, Simpang Ulim District, Meunasah Hasan Village and Matang Kupula Sa in Madat District, as well as Baro Village, Julok District, one unit each.

"Currently, the BPBD team is monitoring and recording the impact of the natural disaster, both rain and strong winds. The team also distributed aid and evacuated residents in need," said Ashadi.
