JAKARTA - The joint Search And Rescue (SAR) team found two landslide victims in Cibeunying Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java, on the sixth day of the search operation.

Head of the Cilacap SAR Office Muhammad Abdullah in Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap Regency, Tuesday evening, said the search for victims of landslides began at 05.30 WIB and was stopped at 16.15 WIB due to heavy rain.

"Today we managed to find and evacuate two victims, all of whom are at Worksite B-2," said SAR Mission Coordinator Muhammad Abdullah as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 18.

He said the first victim on behalf of Arumi Purnamasari (4) was found at 15.03 WIB, then his mother, Lili Safitri (39) at 16.12 WIB.

The two were found close to a depth of four meters at the location where the family's motorbike was previously found.

He also explained a number of obstacles faced by the team, especially the depth of the land pile and the narrower search area.

According to him, excavators cannot enter Worksite A1 because the soil condition is still very soft, while access to Worksite B-1 also experiences similar obstacles.

"Even so, we are still making maximum efforts. Manual excavations, use of drones, sniffer dogs, and alfon tools are deployed to speed up searches," he said.

Abdullah said the search operation would continue on Wednesday (19/11) while still considering the safety factors of the team in the field.

The landslide disaster occurred on November 13, 2025 at around 19.00 WIB, hoarding a number of houses in Tarukahan Hamlet and Cibuyut Hamlet, Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap.

The landslide damaged 12 houses and threatened 16 other houses in an area of about 6.5 hectares. Landslides stockpiled settlements and caused a two-meter deep land drop and 25-meter-long cracks.

Based on temporary data up to the sixth day of the search operation, Tuesday (18/11), the total number of victims affected by the landslide was 46 people, consisting of 23 survivors, 18 deaths, and five others are still being searched.
