5 Chinese Tourists Died In Accident In Buleleng, Police: Still Under Investigation

Minibus Accident In Banjar Prabakula Service, Padang Bulia Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali Friday 14 November 2025

The Bali Police Traffic Directorate is still investigating the cause of the minibus accident that killed five foreign nationals (WNA) from China in Banjar Dinas Prabakula, Padang Bulia Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The tragic incident occurred on Friday, November 14 at around 04.30 WITA.

Dirlantas Polda Bali Kombes Turmudi said his party could not confirm the cause of the accident scientifically. The investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the dominant factor in the single accident.

"For the time being, it is still being investigated, it cannot be ascertained scientifically. We will convey it further later," said Turmudi as quoted by Antara in Denpasar, Monday, December 17.

When asked about the possibility of an element of negligence by the driver, Turmudi said that many factors could be the cause, ranging from the condition of the driver, vehicle, to the road situation at the time of the incident.

"If there are many indications, they are due to negligence, people, vehicles, roads, and so on. Of course we will coordinate," he said.

The Bali Police are also still coordinating with the Chinese Consulate and Interpol for handling the victims, especially the five foreigners who died.

"Until now, it has been handled by the Buleleng Police and we have collaborated with the consulate and Interpol regarding the handling of traffic accidents involving foreigners," said Turmudi.

He added that the police also provided protection and services to the survivors. The process of repatriating the bodies of the victims is also being coordinated with the consulate.

Head of Traffic at the Buleleng Police, AKBP Bachtiar Arifin, previously explained that the accident happened to the Toyota Hiace minibus with the N-7605-TA number carrying 13 Chinese foreigners. The vehicle driven by Arif Al Akbar drove on a downhill road and stuck on Jalan Singaraja' Denpasar KM 7,700.

When he arrived at the scene, the driver allegedly lost control until the vehicle exited the route, entered the resident's garden, then hit a tree and bounced.

As a result of the accident, five passengers died and eight others were injured. All of the injured victims were treated at the Karya Dharma Husada Hospital, Singaraja.

The police are still continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident as well as complete the entire international administration and coordination process related to victims.
