Regional Police (Polda) of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) arrested the perpetrator of the stabbing of police officer Bripka Laode Abdul Salam (37) who died in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.

Gayuh Pambudhi revealed that Bripka Laode Abdul Salam was known to be a police officer on duty at the Tolikara Police, Tolikara Regency, Papua Province, Mountains. Apart from serving as a police officer, the victim is also a paragliding athlete.

"The victim came to Kendari in the context of his task by bringing paragliding athletes to compete," he said.

Regarding the motive for the persecution, it is suspected that the victim was stabbed because the perpetrator was jealous, besides that, the perpetrator was also drunk while molesting Bripka Laode Abdul Salam.

Gayuh Pambudhi added that the perpetrator had been arrested to undergo an examination at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police. Meanwhile, the body of the victim Laode Abdul Salam is now being taken by the Bhayangkara Kendari Hospital.
