ASN Stabbing Police In Kendari Because Of Jealousy Arrested

Regional Police (Polda) of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) arrested the perpetrator of the stabbing of police officer Bripka Laode Abdul Salam (37) who died in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.

Head of Unit (Kanit) Resmob Sub-Directorate III Jatanras Dit Reskrimum Polda Sultra AKP Gayuh Prambudhi Utomo said the perpetrator was named Junaido who worked as a civil servant (PNS).

"The perpetrator has been arrested, he abused the victim using a badik type of sharp weapon that caused the victim to die," Gayuh Pambudhi said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 15.

He said the persecution that resulted in the loss of the lives of members of the National Police occurred in the area of Jalan Budi Utomo, Lorong Merak, Mataiwoi Village, Wuawua District, Kendari City, on Saturday (15/11) at around 01.30 WITA.

At that time, the Southeast Sulawesi Police Resmob Unit team received a report from the local community regarding the incident of mistreatment of Bripka Laode Abdul Salam. Officers who were about to arrest had met with resistance from the perpetrators using machetes.

"Then, the team approached the perpetrator known as Junaido and negotiated until the perpetrator was finally arrested," said Gayuh Pambudhi.

After securing the perpetrator, officers who entered the house where the incident occurred had found the victim dead covered in blood.

Gayuh Pambudhi revealed that Bripka Laode Abdul Salam was known to be a police officer on duty at the Tolikara Police, Tolikara Regency, Papua Province, Mountains. Apart from serving as a police officer, the victim is also a paragliding athlete.

"The victim came to Kendari in the context of his task by bringing paragliding athletes to compete," he said.

Regarding the motive for the persecution, it is suspected that the victim was stabbed because the perpetrator was jealous, besides that, the perpetrator was also drunk while molesting Bripka Laode Abdul Salam.

Gayuh Pambudhi added that the perpetrator had been arrested to undergo an examination at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police. Meanwhile, the body of the victim Laode Abdul Salam is now being taken by the Bhayangkara Kendari Hospital.
