Prabowo Reviews Online Game Restrictions In The Aftermath Of Explosions At SMAN 72 Jakarta

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is considering restrictions on online games following an explosion incident that occurred at SMAN 72 Jakarta, Friday (7/11).

"He said earlier that we also still have to think about limiting and trying how to find a way out of the influence of online games," said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in the Kertanegara area, South Jakarta, Sunday night.

Prasetyo said President Prabowo was thinking about steps to limit and find solutions to the negative influence of a number of online games that were considered to have the potential to have a negative impact on the younger generation.

"Because, it is possible that there are some online games there, there are things that are not good, which may affect our future generation," he said.

Prasetyo gave an example of games with fighting genres such as Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) which are considered to affect players' psychology because they display various types of weapons and elements of violence that are easy to learn.

"For example, PUBG. That's right there, we might think there are restrictions, yes, there are types of weapons, it's also very easy to study, even more dangerous. This is psychologically, getting used to doing what is called violence as something that might become normal," he said.

In addition, Prasetyo also added that the government also highlighted other factors such as bullying in the school environment.

The government appealed to all parties to avoid behavior that could have a negative impact, including bullying actions between students.

"We as fellow children of this nation, avoid things that are not good or have poor implications such as acts of bullying," he said.

Prasetyo also reminded teachers and educators to be more concerned and concerned when there is something suspicious in the school environment.

On Friday (7/11) at around 12.15 WIB, there was an explosion in the SMA Negeri 72 Jakarta in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, precisely in the Navy Kodamar (AL) complex.

According to witness testimony, the explosion occurred while students and teachers were praying Friday at the mosque at the school. The first eruption was heard while the sermon was in progress, followed by a second explosion that was thought to have originated in a different direction.

The explosion caused the victims to experience various injuries, including burns and wounds from debris, as well as sparked panic from school residents and the surrounding community.

Based on the initial investigation, the perpetrator is suspected to be one of the students from the school.

The student reportedly experienced bullying which was suspected to be the motive for carrying out the action.

At the location, objects similar to airsoft guns and revolvers were also found which after the examination it was confirmed that the weapons were toys.
