Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko Received IDR 2.6 Billion From Three Clusters Of Corruption Cases

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the Regent of Ponorogo, East Java, Sugiri Sancoko (SUG), is suspected of receiving a total of IDR 2.6 billion from three different clusters of corruption cases.

The three clusters include alleged bribery for filling positions, bribery for construction projects at Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital, as well as receiving gratuities within the Ponorogo Regency Government.

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, explained at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White House, Jakarta, Sunday that Sugiri allegedly received Rp900 million in the bribery cluster for handling positions from the Director of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo, Yunus Mahatma (YUM).

"In February 2025, the first money was handed over from YUM to SUG through his aide, which was Rp. 400 million," said Asep.

Furthermore, said Asep, on November 7, 2025, Yunus again handed over Rp500 million to Sugiri through a relative with the initials NNK.

In the second cluster, namely the alleged bribery project at Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Hospital, Sugiri is said to have received Rp1.4 billion.

"In 2024, there is a work project at the Ponorogo Hospital worth Rp. 14 billion. From this work, SC (Sucipto) as a private partner of the Harjono Ponorogo Hospital, is suspected of providing project fees to YUM of 10 percent of the project value or Rp. 1.4 billion," he said.

Asep added that the money was then forwarded by Yunus Mahatma to Sugiri through his aide with the initials SGH and his younger brother, ELW.

In addition to the two clusters, the KPK also found indications of receiving gratuities by Sugiri.

"In the 2023'2025 period, it is suspected that SUG received Rp225 million from YUM. In addition, in October 2025, SUG also received Rp75 million from EK as a private party," he said.

Thus, the total money received by Sugiri reached Rp2.6 billion, consisting of Rp900 million from bribery positions, Rp1.4 billion from the Ponorogo Hospital project, and Rp300 million from gratuities.

Previously, on November 9, 2025, the KPK had named four suspects in this case. They are Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko (SUG), Director of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo Yunus Mahatma (YUM), Regional Secretary of Ponorogo Agus Pramono (AGP), and Sucipto (SC) as a private partner of Ponorogo Hospital.

In the bribery case for the management of positions, the KPK named Sugiri Sancoko and Agus Pramono as recipients, while the giver was Yunus Mahatma.

For the bribery project of the Ponorogo Hospital, the recipients are Sugiri Sancoko and Yunus Mahatma, while the giver is Sucipto.

As for the gratification cluster in the Ponorogo Regency Government, the recipient is called Sugiri Sancoko, with Yunus Mahatma as the giver.
