Get Ready! The Minister Of MSMEs Wants To Limit The Import Of Chinese Goods Which Is Considered Damaged By The Domestic Market

JAKARTA - Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman revealed that he was reviewing the rules for limiting imports of products from China which were considered to damage the price of the domestic market. Maman assessed that the price of goods imported from China was set to be very cheap so that domestic price competition became unbalanced.

"After all, we want to talk about importing Chinese goods that were recently. The price is inconsequential," Maman told the media crew, quoted on Saturday, November 8.

According to Maman, most of the products imported from CHina are still hit by the cost of production (HPP). In fact, he continued, the price of goods from China is sold very cheap, ranging from Rp. 3,000 to Rp. 4,000. "They sell up to Rp. 4,000. Yes, it's crazy," continued Maman.

The minister from the Golkar Party confirmed that the problem of imported goods from China will be resolved in the near future while preparing the rules given the security of domestic interests. For now, he continued, the government will still control the clothing used for illegal imports on e-commerce platforms

Minister Maman emphasized that the prohibition only applies to clothing used for illegal imports. Used domestically produced goods are still allowed to be traded. The government is also preparing support so that imported clothing traders can switch to selling local products through easy access to financing and reducing production costs so that the selling price remains affordable.

He emphasized that restrictions do not mean mass blocking. Local preloved goods and personal used products are still allowed to be sold.
