PT Dairi Prima Mineral (DPM) has again shown its commitment to human resource development in Dairi Regency, North Sumatra.
Through the PT DPM Angkatan Kepacion program-4, the black tin and zinc mining company will dispatch six students from Silima Pungga-Pungga District to continue their education to Guangdong Polytechnic of Industry and Commerce (GDPIC), China, in March 2026.
The six scholarship recipients are Anggun Meriah Ateku Cibro (Sungtung Batu Village), Dealova Ro Rejeki Sinaga and Tria Basana Manurung (Longkotan Village), Grace Deocaeli Marigga (Lae Ambat Village), Daniel Fransiskus Simarmata (Silalahi Village 1/Sidikalang), and Hokkop Marlintong Siagian (Sopokomil Village).
They will pursue diploma education in the field of Machinery Manufacturing and Automation for three years.
PT DPM's Chief Legal and External Relation Officer, Radianto Arifin, said this program is part of the company's social responsibility to increase the capacity of local human resources to be ready to compete at the global level.
This student is a tangible manifestation of PT DPM's commitment to supporting the development of human resources in Dairi. We hope that the scholarship recipients can return and contribute to the region," said Radianto.
Radianto added that the selection of scholarship recipients was carried out openly and transparently by involving local governments.
The process began with socialization on July 31, 2025 at the Silima Pangga-Pungga Sub-district Head Office, followed by a series of written tests, Mandarin tests, and selection from the campus until October 2025.
Currently, scholarship recipients are undergoing an administrative and training process before departure.
Since it was first launched in 2019, the PT DPM scholarship program has dispatched a total of 18 students from Dairi to China.
"We are optimistic that this step will have a sustainable economic and social impact on the people of Dairi, especially when the company's operations are fully operational," concluded Radianto.
