Prabowo Asks The Indonesian Airbus A400M Giant Aircraft To Carry Out The Role Of SAR

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto ordered his staff to complete the latest Airbus A400M A-400M A-401 transport aircraft with air ambulances. He hopes that the Indonesian Air Force giant aircraft can carry out the role of SAR, disaster management, and more optimal medical assistance.

"Earlier I was given an explanation for C130 (the transport plane of the Indonesian Air Force Hercules, ed.) we already have a container of air ambulances. I ordered us to immediately order an air ambulance module for the A400M, and I have also instructed it to be equipped with tools to deal with forest fires," President Prabowo told reporters when met after inspecting the A400M A-401 aircraft at the Base Ops of the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base (Lanud), Jakarta, Monday, confiscated by Antara.

On the same occasion, President Prabowo believes that the A400M aircraft with the tail number A-4001 can strengthen Indonesia's air defenses, especially in carrying out humanitarian operations and disaster management.

"So this adds to our strength. The TNI is a very large state tool that plays a major role in dealing with difficulties, facing problems of the interests of the community. So, I think this will increase our strength," said President Prabowo.

At the Base Ops apron of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, President Prabowo led the procession of receiving Airbus' first A400M unit by closing the curtain of the 31/Heavily Transported Air Squadron logo on the left side of the plane's license, then pouring the airbang into the aircraft's wheels.

Then, President Prabowo was accompanied by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi continued to review and check the aircraft interior.

In the aircraft cabin, there is also an Airbus representative.

President Prabowo, when checking the completeness and content of the plane, immediately gave a number of instructions to Defense Minister Sjafrie and KSAU Tonny. On the same occasion, President Prabowo also had a chance to chat with representatives from Airbus and the French Government.

The A400M Indonesian Air Force aircraft has a length of 45.1 meters, a width of 42.2 meters, and a height of 14.7 meters. The aircraft can carry loads of up to 37 tons, and 116 personnel. The A400M Indonesian Air Force is also equipped with 4 Europrop TP400-D6 turboprop engines, and can fly at a maximum speed of 780 kilometers per hour with a maximum cruising power of 8,900 kilometers.
