ProBOLINGGO - Probolinggo Resort Police, East Java, confirmed that no pertalite type fuel oil mixed with water at a number of public refueling stations (SPBU) had been suddenly inspected by officers.

The Probolinggo Police Criminal Investigation Unit moved quickly to respond to public reports and the hectic news on social media regarding allegations that Pertalite fuel was mixed with water at a number of gas stations in Probolinggo Regency.

"We immediately conducted inspections in two locations, namely Gending gas stations and gas stations like Kraksaan. As a result, there were no indications of water or contamination in the pertalite fuel at the two gas stations," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Probolinggo Police, AKP Putra Adi Fajar Winarsa, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 3.

He said the swift steps were taken following reports in the media that said many motorcycles in Probolinggo broke down after filling up fuel. The Satreskrim team immediately went to the field to conduct a direct inspection.

"Officers use water-finding paste to ensure whether there is water content in the fuel at the local gas station," he said.

He explained that the checks were carried out on the fuel dispensers used by consumers and at the main storage reservoirs at each gas station.

As a result, there were no indications of water and field tests showing fuel in normal and usable conditions.

"The two gas stations were declared clean from the alleged mixing of water into fuel. From the results of field inspections, there was no water content in pertalite. The two gas stations operated according to standards, there were no violations," he said.

Although the results of the examination show a safe condition, the Probolinggo Police will ensure that supervision is still tightened at a number of gas stations to anticipate things that are not desirable.

"The investigative team will continue to monitor and carry out regular inspections to other SPBU gas stations in the Probolinggo Police jurisdiction to ensure that the quality of fuel is maintained and does not harm the community," he said.
