BOGOR Bogor City Government (Pemkot) through collaboration with the City and West Java Province Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB), reiterated its commitment to uncovering the historical heritage of the Pajajaran Kingdom. This effort is focused through in-depth research on the potential for Cultural Heritage in Lembur Sawah Village, Mulyaharja Village, South Bogor.

The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, attended the Dissemination of Research Results in Saung Eling, Friday (31/10/2025), which is part of the Bogor City Government's great efforts in exploring local historical heritage.

Research As A Series Towards The Pajajaran Museum

Before the discussion began, Mayor Dedie A. Rachim together with TACB, researchers, elders, and local residents directly visited the location of the Jakung Embah Site and the Kabayan Site. This location is known to have an beautiful atmosphere with valleys and hills, with a background in Mount Salak.

In his remarks, Dedie Rachim highlighted the importance of this research as a series of major leaps that will soon be owned by the City of Bogor and West Java, namely the Pajajaran Museum.

"This collaboration and synergy is a big leap for West Java with Pajajaran background which in the future will have a Pajajaran museum, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture," said Dedie Rachim.

He hopes that the study of these two sites will not only be scaled up, but also have a timeline study and a storyline, so that it can connect the history of the Pajajaran Kingdom with a wider world history context.

Preliminary Findings And Advanced Recommendations

The chairman of the Bogor City TACB, Taufik Hassunna, explained that this research used a holistic method, including direct archaeological research in the field as well as in-depth interviews with residents. This initial stage research report has been summarized in a 140-page document.

"Essentially we want to understand how the residents of Lembur Sawah are concerned with understanding of their area of residence. This is also the basis for research," explained Taufik.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the West Java Province TACB, Lutfi Yondri, appreciated the efforts of the City of Bogor which succeeded in maintaining local wisdom and the relics of the site in the midst of rapid development.

He suspects that the location of the site was previously the oldest settlement or where the previous elders lived, supported by the discovery of fragments of pottery pottery.

Lutfi Yondri gave input so that research was continued with:

A Study on World Historical Relations: Building a knot on Pajajaran's historical relations with international arenas.

Demographic Study: To see the overall position of the Sawah Lembur, including the name of the region in the past, to read whether the existing settlements are a new culture or a sustainable tradition.
