PB XIII Dies, Gibran Prays For The King Of Surakarta At The Solo Palace

Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka mourns the King of the Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunan Palace Paku Buwono (PB) XIII who died at the age of 77.

Gibran arrived at the Solo Palace, Sunday, November 2 at 18.00 WIB. Arriving at the location, Gibran went straight to the mosque in the palace complex to perform the Maghrib prayer.

After that, Gibran, who wore a light blue shirt, immediately entered to the Parasdya Ward, where PB XIII's body was buried.

After praying for PB XIII, Gibran had a meeting with the palace family. After a few minutes of meeting, Gibran left the ward and left the Solo Palace.

Apart from Gibran, at the same time a number of figures were also seen attending the funeral, including Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, Central Java Police Chief Inspector General of Ribut Hari Wibowo, Surakarta Mayor Respati Ahmad, and Surakarta Deputy Mayor Astrid Widayani.

On the same occasion, the Ruler of Mangkunegaran Temple, Mangkunagono X, also mourned. He expressed his sorrow for the death of the King of Surakarta.

"I personally and represent the family and institutions in Dalem Mangkunegaran who are deeply saddened by the passing of Sinuhun Paku Buwono XIII," he said.

He said PB XIII was a strong and wise leader.

He is a leader who is also a good example for me personally and for the whole family in the Palace. We are here to support each other, take care of each other and hopefully everyone will be given strength and fortitude," he said.
