JAKARTA - Colonel (Inf) Donny Pramono has officially been appointed as Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service (Kadispenad), replacing Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana, who is currently serving at the State Palace as Military Secretary to the President (Sesmilpres).

"I express my deepest gratitude to the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army, who has entrusted me with the position of Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service," said Donny during a handover ceremony at Army Headquarters in Central Jakarta on Friday.

To the media shortly after the handover ceremony, Donny briefly shared his track record during his career in the Indonesian Army.

Donny explained that he has been involved with the Red Berets of the Special Forces Command (Kopassus).

"So, I was in the Red Berets for quite some time, approximately 19 years. From the rank of 2nd Lieutenant to the rank of Colonel, I achieved it in Kopassus," Donny told the media.

Donny's last position in the Kopassus unit was Commander of Group 3/Sandi Yudha Kopassus, which has now become Unit 71 Kopassus.

This 1999 graduate of the Military Academy (Akmil) has also held several positions outside the Kopassus Corps, including territorial positions as Dandim Banten and Dandim Cilegon.

"Previously, I also served in Kodam 4 Diponegoro as Assistant for Intelligence. Then, before that, I attended Sesko TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces Command and Command)," said Donny.

"All subsequent positions were within Kopassus, from Danyon (Battle Commander), Wadanyon (Vice Commander), Kasasi (Commanders), and units and teams were all within Kopassus. I've been in all Kopassus units," explained Donny.

Before officially serving as Kadispenad, Donny also worked at Army Headquarters as Paban VI/Inteltek Sintelad.

Now, Donny will be the primary channel for information related to Indonesian Army activities. Donny hopes that this task can be carried out well in order to create transparency of information from the Indonesian Army to the public.
